How to Apply — Step by Step

01

Find an Opportunity

Browse the park directory to find a Corps-managed site near you. Contact the park ranger or project office to express your interest and ask about current volunteer needs.

02

Complete Required Forms

Download and complete the Volunteer Service Agreement (OF-301A) and any site-specific forms. Some positions require a background check. All forms are available on our Forms & Documents page.

03

Submit & Get Approved

Submit your forms to the project office. Once reviewed and approved, you will receive a formal acceptance letter and your volunteer ID number used in the Hour Tracker.

04

Attend Orientation

Most sites require a brief orientation covering safety procedures, emergency contacts, and site-specific duties. Some parks offer online pre-orientation modules available in our Resources section.
